The Yukon Legislative Assembly is saddened to hear of the recent passing of former Member of the Legislative Assembly Darius Elias.
Darius Elias was first elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly in the general election of October 10, 2006. He was re-elected in the general election of October 11, 2011.
Mr. Elias served on the Standing Committee on Rules, Elections and Privileges, the Standing Committee on Statutory Instruments, the Select Committee on the Landlord and Tenant Act, and the Select Committee on Anti-smoking Legislation and the Select Committee Regarding the Risks and Benefits of Hydraulic Fracturing.
On April 16, 2015 Mr. Elias was appointed Deputy Chair of Committee of the Whole. He was elected Deputy Speaker and Chair of Committee of the Whole on May 10, 2016.
