The Yukon Legislative Assembly is saddened to hear of the recent passing of former Member of the Legislative Assembly Jack Cable.
Jack Cable was first elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly in the general election of October 19, 1992. He was re-elected in the general election of September 30, 1996 and served as the Member representing the electoral district of Riverside. Mr. Cable also served as Leader of the Liberal Party from October 19, 1992 to August 31, 1997.
On October 1, 2000, Mr. Cable was appointed as Commissioner of the Yukon and held the post until November 30, 2005.
I would like to extend my sincere condolences to his family and friends, including his son, Dan Cable, Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, and daughter Sue Edelman, former MLA for Riverdale South, on their loss.
