Currie Dixon was first elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly in the general election of the 33rd Legislative Assembly on October 11, 2011. He was re-elected in the general election for the 35th Legislative Assembly on April 12, 2021.

Currie Dixon is Chair of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts. He was appointed to the committee by Order of the House on May 17, 2021. On May 13, 2021, Currie Dixon was appointed a member of the Members’ Services Board by Order of the House.

On September 28, 2022, it was announced that Currie Dixon would be the Yukon Party caucus critic for the Executive Council Office, the Yukon Liquor Corporation, the Yukon Lottery Corporation, the Yukon Cannabis Corporation, Early Learning and Child Care, and the 2027 Canada Winter Games.

Currie Dixon was sworn in as a member of the Executive Council (Cabinet) on November 5, 2011. During the 33rd Legislative Assembly he served as Minister of Environment, Minister of Economic Development, Minister of Community Services and Minister of the Public Service Commission. 

During the 33rd Legislative Assembly Currie Dixon was appointed to the Members’ Services Board, the Standing Committee on Rules, Elections and Privileges, the Standing Committee on Appointments to Major Government Boards and Committees and the Select Committee Regarding the Risks and Benefits of Hydraulic Fracturing.
