Committee Hearing on Yukon Public Accounts to be Held

The Standing Committee on Public Accounts of the 34th Yukon Legislative Assembly will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. 

The hearing will address the Yukon Public Accounts 2019-20. The Public Accounts were released on October 29, 2020 and are available at https://yukon.ca/en/2019-20-public-accounts. Officials from the Office of the Auditor General of Canada and the Department of Finance will be appearing as witnesses at the hearing.

The public accounts include the government’s financial statements and provide Yukoners with information on government spending. With its examination of the public accounts, the Standing Committee on Public Accounts is fulfilling its primary purpose of ensuring accountability for public spending.

Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, the public hearing will be held by videoconference. Members of the public may watch the hearing live through a link on the committee’s webpage (https://yukonassembly.ca/committees/pac) or on the Legislative Assembly’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/yukonlegislativeassembly
