The Yukon Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The subject of the hearing will be a report of the Office of the Auditor General of Canada entitled COVID-19 Pandemic – COVID-19 Vaccines in Yukon – Independent Auditor's Report – 2023 Report of the Auditor General of Canada to the Yukon Legislative Assembly. This report was released on June 20, 2023, and can be accessed at https://www.oag-bvg.gc.ca/internet/English/yuk_202306_e_44282.html .
The Auditor General’s report contains recommendations for improving how the Government of Yukon responds to future emergencies. Officials from the Office of the Auditor General of Canada, the Department of Health and Social Services and the Department of Community Services and the Executive Council Office will be appearing as witnesses at the hearing.
The public hearing will be held in the Yukon Legislative Assembly Chamber and will be broadcast live on 93.5 FM. The audio will also be streamed live (and archived) on the Legislative Assembly’s website (https://yukonassembly.ca/house-business/coverage-proceedings). Following the hearing, transcripts will be available on the Public Accounts Committee’s webpage (https://yukonassembly.ca/committees/pac).
