The Yukon Legislative Assembly is saddened to hear of the recent passing of former Member of the Legislative Assembly Alice McGuire.
Alice McGuire was elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly in the general election of November 20, 1978. She served as the Member for Kluane until June 6, 1982.
Ms. McGuire was one of the first two First Nations persons elected to the Legislative Assembly in the 1978 general election. She was the first First Nations female Member of the Legislative Assembly.
