The Yukon Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts will be holding a public hearing on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The hearing will address the Yukon Public Accounts 2021-22. The Public Accounts were released on October 27, 2022 and are available at https://yukon.ca/en/public-accounts. Officials from the Office of the Auditor General of Canada and the Department of Finance will be appearing as witnesses at the hearing.
The Public Accounts include the government’s financial statements and provide Yukoners with information on government spending. With its examination of the public accounts, the Standing Committee on Public Accounts is fulfilling its primary purpose of ensuring accountability for public spending.
The public hearing will be held in the Yukon Legislative Assembly Chamber and will be broadcast live on 93.5 FM. The audio will also be streamed live (and archived) on the Legislative Assembly’s website (https://yukonassembly.ca/house-business/coverage-proceedings).
